第四十五課　簡化修飾名詞的從句
一.本課要點(diǎn)及示例

在這一課里, 我們學(xué)習(xí)怎么樣簡化用來修飾名詞的從句, 比方 "唱歌的人" the man who is singing 可以簡化為 the man singing; "他唱的歌" the song which was sung by him 可以簡化為 the song sung by him. 另外我們還要學(xué)習(xí)一些跟 音樂有關(guān)系的詞匯.

現(xiàn)在我們先來聽今天這一課的對(duì)話, 內(nèi)容是說亨利跟小女兒琳達(dá)談起了聽流 行歌曲的事情. 請(qǐng)你注意聽兩位英文老師的發(fā)音和語調(diào).

M: Linda, turn down the record player. I'm trying to read.

F: That's my new record, Dad. Don't you like it?

M: The man singing, is he the one who won all the music awards?

F: Yes, he is also the one singing in the movie we saw last night on T.V.

二.簡化用來修飾名詞的從句

聽到這兒,我想你對(duì)怎么簡化從句已經(jīng)有點(diǎn)兒概念. 現(xiàn)在我請(qǐng)英文老師再念一 些句子進(jìn)一步作比較.首先男老師念兩個(gè)句子,比方:The man asks Linda to turn down the record player. He is Henry. 女老師就把兩個(gè)句子合并成一句:The man who asks Linda to turn down the record player is Henry. 然后女老師再用動(dòng)詞 加上 i-n-g 把從句加以簡化,所以整個(gè)句子就變成: The man asking Linda to turn down the record player is Henry. 老師念句子的時(shí)候請(qǐng)你注意聽.

M: The girl is listening to the record. She is Linda.

F: The girl who is listening to the record is Linda.

F: The girl listening to the record is Linda.

M: The man is talking to Linda. He is her father.

F: The man who is talking to Linda is her father.

F: The man talking to Linda is her father.

M: The man asks Linda to turn down the record player. He is Henry.

F: The man who asks Linda to turn down the record player is Henry.
