Heavy rainfall will hit central and east China, bringing temperatures down by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday, the National Meteorological Center said on Friday.

Snowfalls will sweep parts of the Xinjiang Uygur and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions, as well as north China, on Friday.

Downpours are forecast in parts of southwest and south China, as well as areas south of the Yellow River.

Rainstorms, thunderstorms, high winds and hail are expected in parts of Sichuan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong provinces over the next two days.

The weather observatory added that winter wheat-growing provinces in the north will see light rain on Friday.
